Good news for our friends across the pond - Pushing Daisies will air on ITV1.

ITV has picked up a trio of US dramas from the LA Screenings, two of which will air on ITV1. The UK network is hoping they’ll be the first break-out US hits for the flagship channel in several years.Quirky Warner Brothers drama Pushing Daisies, starring Brookside’s Anna Friel, and CBS Paramount’s Swingtown, starring another Brit actor Jack Davenport, are both destined for ITV1, while CBS Paramount’s Latino saga Cane is destined for the network’s digital sisters.

The deals were brokered by Jay Kandola (left), ITV’s director of acquisitions.

Pushing Daisies comes from Bryan Fuller (Heroes) and Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) and is billed as a high-concept crime procedural and “forensic fairytale.” Described by some critics as “the next Desperate Housewives” and by some buyers as similar in tone to movies Big Fish and Amelie, it tells the story of a man with a special ability to bring the dead back to life.
