What’s The Buzz?

Here’s what ‘they’ are saying about this fall’s most exciting new show, “Pushing Daisies”:

Kathie Skerry of Give Me My Remote: I was actually surprised by how many Fall shows looked promising at the Upfronts. While “Bionic Woman” and “Chuck” really caught my interest I would say that the show I’m most excited for this Fall is “Pushing Daisies.” I haven’t seen the full pilot yet, but based on the extended preview that was shown at the Upfronts, “Pushing Daisies” seems to be different than anything else we have seen on TV in a while. Part murder mystery, part whimsical love story all wrapped up in a creative vision that feels (Tim-) Burton-esque and definitely different than anything we’ve seen on TV in quite some time.

The TV Addict from the TV Addict blog: It’s not a cop show, it’s not a procedural drama — and truth be told, since I have yet to receive the pilot, I’m not exactly sure what it is. What I do know is that “Pushing Daisies” looks like nothing currently on television, which in the land of never-ending cop/lawyer/doctor shows can only be a good thing.

Maureen Ryan, TV critic for the Chicago Tribune who blogs at The Watcher: I’m looking forward to “Pushing Daisies,” the show that’s getting the most buzz by far, and also “Dirty Sexy Money” — anything involving Greg Berlanti and Craig Wright, I’m on board with. I think “Miss/Guided” could be great, since I am a huge fan of Judy Greer, and if it’s true that Rob Thomas of “Veronica Mars” will be running the show, then I don’t see how it can miss. “Back to You,” the new Kelsey Grammer-Patricia Heaton comedy on Fox, has also been getting great buzz, and those two are such pros that it could be decent.
