ABC released the following press release with more information about Molly Shannon’s upcoming role on Pushing Daisies:

MOLLY SHANNON TO APPEAR IN THREE EPISODES OF ABC’S “PUSHING DAISIES”

Molly Shannon (”Saturday Night Live,” “Evan Almighty”) will appear in a three-episode arc of ABC’s critically acclaimed new series “Pushing Daisies.” Filming begins this week. Shannon will play Dilly Balsam, a competitor of Ned’s (Lee Pace) who opens a rival sweets shop across the street from the Pie Hole. Writer/actor Michael White (”The School of Rock,” “The Good Girl”) will play her brother, Billy Balsam.

    I can’t picture NED with any other girl that’s not Chuck. But then again, he’s a guy and he needs a girl so who better then that girl that works at The Pie Whole. Pretty good match. Plus, they can kiss all they want and she won’t die. lol
