We open on Young Ned at boarding school over a long weekend. He and a few other boys with no where to go are playing roulette. Young Ned bets some chocolates, only realizing their value later after bets had closed. He learns an important lesson about gambling that shapes his life for years to come, with a few exceptions.

Back in present day, a Chinese chef named Bao has been killed and his widow, Lai Di, asks Emerson to find his killer. When Ned “undeads” Bao, Chuck reveals a hidden skill. Bao doesn’t realize he’s already been killed and panics, claiming that “they” will kill him because he lost a bet. Bao has been gambling at the dim sum - 2 shrimp dumplings and 3 pork buns beats 4 egg rolls - and lost. Further investigation reveals that Bao’s daughter, Mei, must marry a man connected with the Chinese mob in order to pay her father’s gambling debts. Chuck and Olive go under cover as dim sum waitresses to track down the crooks while Ned and Emerson undertake their own covert operation. Unfortunately, the plan does not go as…planned.

Meanwhile, Ned starts to suspect his opinion of his father may not be based on facts.
